VIVID COLORS AND CHARMING PATTERNS — EXPERIMENTAL TEXTILE DESIGNS FROM TEUBER KOHLHOFF

VIVID COLORS AND CHARMING PATTERNS — EXPERIMENTAL TEXTILE DESIGNS FROM TEUBER KOHLHOFF

Sun, sea, sand – and a beautiful beach towel. If you’re planning on catching some rays this summer, you should make space in your suitcase for one of the charming eco cotton towels from Berlin textile and interior design duo Teuber Kohlhoff. A collaboration with She She, which hosts women-only yoga retreats in Mallorca, the sunny yellow towels are adorned with two nude figures – an illustration inspired by ancient Greek depictions of women. The design embodies Mediterranean vibes perfectly, though we think it will look equally nice on the shores of a Brandenburg lake as on a Balearic beach. The towel is just one of the intelligent, thoughtful designs that Anna Teuber and Franzi Kohlhoff have dreamt up since meeting during their design studies at Weimar, home of the Bauhaus school. The pair formally partnered up in 2015, and have since built a name with their line of cushionstowels and design commissions for clients including Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau and Adidas.

Another newly-released design is the Trace Rug, a sun-yellow carpet with a traced pattern that looks like sunlight coming through a window, giving the impression of daylight on your interior floor. Hand-tufted from New Zealand wool, the rug is custom made in different sizes and colors for a statement piece that will fit rooms of all shapes and sizes. For a more pocket-sized design, the Weave scarf series features vivid multi-color depictions of three basic weaving patterns. If you have ever wondered what the difference is between a warp and a weft these scarves will teach you, though they also work just fine as a chic accessory. Big or small, these vibrant styles and cheerful palettes give us strong summer vibes – even when the sun isn’t shining…
