Not interested in sipping champagne at the big openings? Head to one of the off-spaces instead, like project space Insitu for example. On display there are four works by four artists whose names you should remember: Ellinor Aurora Aasgaard, Bror Sander Berg Størseth, Britta Thie, and Christian Falsnaes. The latter likes to let gallery-goers perform in his music videos. For the work “Influence,” for example, he steered visitors toward a state of ecstasy one sunny Saturday afternoon, then let them dance and stood there naked at the end – music video complete! The Insitu group show, incidentally, is named for “Vic,” a fictitious character who’s called the exhibition space home since early this year. Not tethered to a specific gender, Vic is always careful to be cool and show the right face. Fair warning: there still might be champagne… (Text: Philipp Hindahl / Photo: (left) Courtesy Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, (right) Marcus Georg)
