BUY AND SELL IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: EBAY LOCAL MAKES SHOPPING EASY

BUY AND SELL IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: EBAY LOCAL MAKES SHOPPING EASY

Window shopping gets a new meaning with this campaign! For the launch of eBay Lokal, you can stop by the eBay Buy Window at Friedrichstraße 153A until 20.09.2023. eBay seller Martin presents his products in his temporary living room. This is part of the “eBay Local” campaign and is intended to show: Buying and selling in your immediate vicinity can be so easy! Product highlights from Martin’s selection include mid-century pieces. If you think that one of them could enrich your life: Go for it! You know, the early bird gets the bargain. And no matter if you bid or buy now, you can pick up the object of your desire straight from Martin’s buy window on Friedrichstraße thanks to the QR pickup code: It is the digital handshake and the basis for private sellers to be paid the money for the item and the buyer to be protected by eBay Buyer Protection. This way, the entire buying process runs securely and completely sans cash or other forms of payment, and both parties are protected by buyer and seller protection.

FISH KLUB’S NEXT DESTINATION: THE CANTEEN AT ST. OBERHOLZ WITH SEAFOOD, VEGETARIAN BAR SNACKS AND COCKTAILS

FISH KLUB’S NEXT DESTINATION: THE CANTEEN AT ST. OBERHOLZ WITH SEAFOOD, VEGETARIAN BAR SNACKS AND COCKTAILS

If you only eat seasonal and fresh fish, you should be familiar with the Fish Klub: founded in 2017 by Margaux Friocourt, the club sold seasonal fish and seafood from the coast of Brittany and the Atlantic Ocean, caught and imported using sustainable fishing methods. But now the Fish Klub is also known for its legendary residencies, where you can look forward not only to seafood prepared to perfection, but the complete package: Good drinks, cool locations and a menu that will truly make anyone happy. After Fish Klub visited Lütt for several weeks, the journey now continues towards Rosenthaler Platz – to be more precise: to St. Oberholz. Together they started their very own project at the beginning of September 2023 – The Canteen – and will offer you the perfect location for casual evenings with cocktails and bar snacks for the next few months. In addition to classics like moules frites and oysters, there are also new additions: fritto misto and carpaccio go vegetarian here, and they do it damn well – along with the most delicious dips. A night out is only casual if you don’t have to compromise: here you can order as much or as little as you like, you can share or order your own shrimp roll (which you definitely don’t want to share), you can drink wine or cocktails or both, and even for those who don’t drink alcohol, they offer more than just the usual standbys. It’s loud, it’s crowded and it can be quite annoying – yes, it’s Rosi. But that’s what’s so great about visiting The Canteen for the first time: it’s loud because people are looking forward to the evening, it’s crowded because the food tastes so good and, it can be quite a pain that not every evening can be so beautifully informal.

SAMPLE AND COOK IT YOURSELF JUST LIKE IN A RESTAURANT: AT THE POP-UP EVENT OWN

SAMPLE AND COOK IT YOURSELF JUST LIKE IN A RESTAURANT: AT THE POP-UP EVENT OWN

How often do you have the can’t-fail classics at home? Too often? At our house, too. So, time for a fresh take and a little inspiration for an Instagrammable dinner at home. This Saturday (16.09.2023), however, the handsome eatery is the site of a pop-up event: In the Own Bar, the focus will be on drinks and flying food creations from exciting food players. Herrlich Dining – to drop a name – is among them. Fee and Hannah manage to arrange plate dishes into small artworks. And they don’t just look good, they taste great – we know what we’re talking about, because we’ve already tasted them. Speaking of which, all guests are invited to taste – with the concept that it doesn’t always have to cost the earth to create special dishes. And that’s the real hook of the Own pop-up bar. Behind it all is quite simple: a discounter. Or better, the inventor of the discount called Aldi Nord.

They have more and more organic food on offer and they want to make this known – in a new way, with the motto “Good for everyone.” And hence the bar evening with young food talents, so that you also think: I want to taste that again – and I can do that myself! In addition to Herrlich Dining, AnjaMartin and Daniel are also taking part. These four “food-fluencers” are behind the two-by-three-course premium snack menus that will fly by. They’ll be accompanied by drinks from well-known bartenders. And because it all sounds so delightful and delicious, the event is already sold out. But we have last tickets and you have the chance to win them! Write us at win@ceecee.cc and with a little luck you’ll be in. And then it’s time to grab the appetizer of your choice – and take the inspiration home to keep in mind for your next shopping trip. Nothing stands in the way of a soiree in your home with impressive snacks and good drinks.

FROM HEAD TO TOE — ON’S EXKLUSIVER POP-UP SHOWROOM AT ISLA COFFEE FOR THE LAUNCH OF THEIR NEW APPAREL COLLECTION

FROM HEAD TO TOE — ON’S EXKLUSIVER POP-UP SHOWROOM AT ISLA COFFEE FOR THE LAUNCH OF THEIR NEW APPAREL COLLECTION

Especially since the release of our shared Neighborhood Map, we hope they’re on your radar: The Swiss running brand On. Their experimentation on the first prototype began with bits of garden hose on shoes’ outsoles – and ever since, it’s hard to imagine the running community without it. For the launch of the new apparel collection, the On team has teamed up with Isla Coffee to co-host a pop-up showroom (13.-17.09.2023). With the theme “From Head to Toe,” you can browse through the new collection and virtually put together a complete running look. During the pop-up, however, the focus will be on one thing above all: meeting the community. Whether you’re a sports, coffee, culture or music fanatic, On is offering you the full program this week. Tonight (14.09) at 18h is “Community Night” with tunes from Krubally and Halunki. From Friday to Sunday (14.-17.09.) you can put your new outfit to the test: Morning Run & Coffee in the early morning or the “Sunday 10k Run” – they’re the perfect opportunity to get to know the running community in Berlin. If you’re not sure yet and maybe running just isn’t your thing, you should stop by Soukou’s EP release party on Friday (15.09.) at 18h – afterparty and cool drinks included!

SELF-SERVICE KAYAKS: THE KAYAKOMAT OFFERS 24/7 SIT-ON-TOP BOATS

SELF-SERVICE KAYAKS: THE KAYAKOMAT OFFERS 24/7 SIT-ON-TOP BOATS

If you want to paddle towards the sunset: off to Eichwalde! The Kayakomat offers you boats to rent 24/7. The concept comes from Sweden, where there are many lakes, and has slowly spread to Germany. I discovered the first one in beautiful Stralsund, but there are already two in Berlin. There’s one in Köpenick, but I tested the one in Eichwalde – right on the Berlin-Brandenburg border. Here, at a nice swimming spot on the Dahme, you can rent a bright red solo or tandem kayak. You book the whole thing using a smartphone and PIN code. Simply enter the code into the combination lock and take out the boat. Put the paddles together and off you go. Life jackets are also on board, of course. The kayaks here in Eichwalde are so-called sit-on-top kayaks, which are super comfortable, especially in warm temperatures. From the location in Eichwalde, if you have a whole day to spend on the water, you can go on real excursions and paddle into the next lake or do a small round trip to Lake Crossin and back via the canal. But if you are doing it for the first time, I recommend two to three hours. That’s enough to paddle around the small island and to cruise a bit along the green shores. There’s plenty to see. Tip: the boats are not exactly lightweight: so be prepared for a bit of a tow to the shore, but it’s not far. But they are easy to drive and steer and you feel super safe on them! Tip: it’s best to reserve your boat from home, because it takes a moment to get the PIN code to unlock it. So no more excuses: get on the water!
