WATCH THE VIDEO OF SEEK MAGAZINE NO.4’S RELEASE EVENT

WATCH THE VIDEO OF SEEK MAGAZINE NO.4’S RELEASE EVENT

Last Friday, we debuted the most recent edition of Seek Magazine – the magazine we compile for the eponymous fashion trade show (Seek). Issue no.4 is dedicated to the idyllic idea of a “Permanent Vacation”. To celebrate the launch we set up camp in Volume Gallery, decked out the place with rubber rings, beach balls and dreamy holiday pictures and celebrated the start of the weekend with drinks from Campari, Astra and Carlsberg. Seek Magazine is now ready to be distributed in places such as Hallesches Haus, Concierge Coffee and Do You Read Me?! store along with many more – simply pick up your copy and take a break. Or check out the video and the photos from the event on our Facebook. BLOOMON FLOWERS: BEAUTIFUL BOUQUETS JUST A CLICK AWAY

BLOOMON FLOWERS: BEAUTIFUL BOUQUETS JUST A CLICK AWAY

Flowers make people happy – this is the simple mindset of the flower delivery service Bloomon. From early 2016, the team have bee delivering this happiness in flowery form to cities all over Germany. The weekly changing bouquets come in three size options – small, medium and large, and are selected and created by in-house florist Anton van Duijn. The seasonal arrangements juxtapose flowers of different sizes and colors in a relaxed natural looking bouquet that feels almost as though you had picked it yourself. The flowers are delivered wrapped in an innovative, specially-designed paper that protects and nourishes the plants en-route, and which is also covered in helpful care instructions. We were lucky enough to sample several arrangements in the Cee Cee Studio, and can definitely say that the flowers are both stunning and durable – plus, with the weekly delivery option, you can select a time frame every Wednesday during the day or evening for your bouquet to be refreshed. Order yours with the code “ceeceevase” and receive a glass vase for free. (Text: Stephanie Johne)

KATER DEMOS: MAGAZINE ON POLITICS FOR GENERATION Y

KATER DEMOS: MAGAZINE ON POLITICS FOR GENERATION Y

Political apathy has many faces – disinterested, grumpy, uncomplaining. We have all been there, and there are reasons for that. Generation Y is missing contemporary role models – people who are active political participants and who make politics more accessible. Alexander Sängerlaub and his team aim to fill this gap with their magazine Kater Demos, founded in 2015. The name was inspired by the entertaining cat content on the internet, with “Kater” not only being the word for a male cat but also meaning hungover, suggesting the boredom and fatigue associated with modern politics. Their well-investigated and sometimes ironic content is for now only available in printed form, and to reach the same number of followers as Grumpy Cat they will need to stay patient. However, the magazine strives to be independent, and has been steadily founded on almost forgotten virtues: honesty and transparency, packing in accessible, well-researched texts. The second issue, which is available from tomorrow (20.5.2016) has dedicated 136 pages to the topic of “work”. Find out where to buy it here. (Text: Stephanie Johne / Photo: Sandra Bitz)

SUBESSENZ SPEAKERS — EASY ON THE EYES, HEAVEN FOR THE EARS

SUBESSENZ SPEAKERS — EASY ON THE EYES, HEAVEN FOR THE EARS

The key to a good party is always good music, but what should you play that good music on? The answer is, of course, great speakers. Jonathan Ranzinger and Wilhelm Steib, the founders of Berlin-based Subessenz, have created and designed their sets of aesthetically gorgeous and technologically impressive speakers to fulfil all of your sonar needs. The impressive Horness speakers use the natural shape of the horn to create an incredibly rich and immersive sound, with hand-pressed aluminium horns increasing the volume of the sound without harming the fine balance of the acoustics. We were lucky enough to try a pair of their speakers for our party last weekend, and the sound quality was unbelievably good, particularly when accompanied by their Bass Horn speaker, cast in high quality concrete to underpin and round out a shifting soundscape. It’s a true product of Berlin wherein unique design meets a love for perfectly crafted sound, and means these speakers are an all-round incredible investment. (Text: Antonia Harris)

OSTMOST: REFRESH YOURSELF WITH BUBBLING APPLE & CIDER

OSTMOST: REFRESH YOURSELF WITH BUBBLING APPLE & CIDER

Craft coffee and craft beer may be all the rage, but at Ostmost, the emphasis is firmly placed on apples. This humble fruit is the base for all seven varieties of Ostmost juice and cider, and forms the core of the startup’s sustainability goals as they reap, replant and restore small “Streuobstwiesen”- wild orchards in rural Eastern Germany. This type of regional fruit cultivation is a practice in danger of being crushed by cheaper and more intense mass-production, yet Ostmost are dedicated to paying more in order to ensure both a better fruit quality, and the continuation of small, local production (check out this illustrated video to learn more!) Paul Döcker, Bernd Schock and Dennis Meier began to produce Ostmost in June 2014 after building a network of distributors, farmers and working with a family-run “Kelterei”. Today, they not only have their original, 100% pure Apple drink, which is cloudy, strong and beautifully crisp, but also varieties such as Apple and Redcurrant, Apple and Beetroot, and their two Mild or Wild Outcider ciders. They make a gorgeous range of summer drinks, enjoyed outdoor and on the terrace of a café, and you can check out this online map to see where they are stocked, including the recent venue of Bio Company. Cheers! (Text: Antonia Harris / Photo: Daniel Farò)
