LABELS — JOIN THE WAITLIST AND BE AMONG THE FIRST TO GET LOVED LOCAL BRANDS DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR IN 30 MINUTES

LABELS — JOIN THE WAITLIST AND BE AMONG THE FIRST TO GET LOVED LOCAL BRANDS DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR IN 30 MINUTES

It’s (almost) ready! The Cee Cee team are super excited to announce the pre-launch of the delivery start-up we co-founded: Labels. When it comes to online shopping, we’re often forced to sacrifice on quality, speed and support for local designers and businesses. Labels makes these trade-offs a thing of the past. The app-based service delivers a constantly growing range of fashion, beauty and home products from Berlin brands to your door in 30 minutes. The project means we are able to support all the makers, creators and brands we share with you on Cee Cee (if you want to get your own brand on Labels, get in touch). Packaging waste is avoided and the low-emissions deliveries are made using e-bikes and e-vans that are charged by green power. Get the app now and you’ll be among the first to order exciting local brands like Vertere, 032c, Das Wetter and Kuučko. There are new creations to discover, too, with ceramics by Monti Pots and specialty wines from Treat. For exclusive waitlist access before the app’s launch on 31.01 you can sign up online

YLN: YOUR LOVING NATURE FOR HAPPY HAIR SUPPLIES — FROM SHAMPOO BARS TO THE PERFECT HAIRBRUSH

YLN: YOUR LOVING NATURE FOR HAPPY HAIR SUPPLIES — FROM SHAMPOO BARS TO THE PERFECT HAIRBRUSH

Brushing your hair makes you happy. It’s a little wellness ritual that stimulates and wards off tiredness, which is why I always have a brush with me. It’s a principle shared by Your Loving Nature, the hair salon and shop on Ackerstraße run by Marion Garz, a make-up artist and stylist who sells a great range of hairbrushes. She’s also taken the step of ditching the plastic bottles, aluminium foil and other sources of waste typically found in hair salons. The goal: make haircare healthier and more sustainable. Marion uses and sells her own products, which include solid shampoos and beard, facial and body soaps in different shapes and colors.

If, like me, you’ve had disappointing experiences with solid shampoo, be assured it’s worth giving it a second chance – not least because YLN has bars for every imaginable hair type and need. For shine and smoothness there’s the “Curcuma” soap, for volume there’s the “Mint” version, while those with colored hair can try the “Moisturizing” bar. The ingredients are not only natural but do without preservatives: fresh birch sugar, white clay, grape seed oil, corn starch, salt, broccoli seed oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and mango butter are just a few of the goodies in the bars. As for the brushes, Marion has some unique types: there’s “Sigrun”, the “patient one” which helps untangle your hair, the powerful “Chris” which is used for detangling and stimulating, and finally the slender “Layla” for special occasions. Having smelled the bars and tried the brushes, I can’t wait to try out the salon and benefit from Marion’s knowledge. Until then: I’ll be giving my hair some brush-based TLC.

CEECEE X KUNST100 COLLECTION —UPGRADE YOUR WALLS WITH OUR FAVORITE ARTWORKS FROM KUNST100

CEECEE X KUNST100 COLLECTION —UPGRADE YOUR WALLS WITH OUR FAVORITE ARTWORKS FROM KUNST100

For a while now we’ve been fans of Kunst100 and its mission to make art more accessible. Now we have had the pleasure of teaming up with the team to create the CeeCee X Kunst100 art collection. The works for sale include photographs by Giulia Artusa and Veronika Natter that will make you dream of summer as well as abstract compositions from Daniel Gumbert and Roberto Rivadeneira that bring vivid color to your living room wall. Many of the artists are at the very beginning of their careers, and the collection should appeal to beginners and established collectors alike (prices range from €39 to €995). Have fun discovering, collecting and hanging!

PRACTICAL DESIGNS FOR THE HOME: NŌS STORE IN SCHÖNEBERG — RECOMMENDED BY ANTJE ROSSTEUSCHER

PRACTICAL DESIGNS FOR THE HOME: NŌS STORE IN SCHÖNEBERG — RECOMMENDED BY ANTJE ROSSTEUSCHER

Located on a corner in Schöneberg’s Akazienkiez, the beautiful Nōs Store is full of practical, well-designed goods for the home. Owner Emily Pelich has brought together a wonderful mix of timelessly beautiful objects that aren’t just decorative: if you’ve always wanted a good lemon squeezer, classic drinking glasses or knives that stay sharp for an eternity, you’ll find what you need at this shop. Most of the products are made in Europe: the ceramics come from Portugal, the wool blankets from Finland and Ireland and the porcelain from Franconia, Bavaria. Emily also has a selection of cookbooks and fun reads for children. Every time I visit, I find something that’s missing from my home and am always able to find the right gifts (my go-to: Mondinobitters). I’ve known Emily for almost ten years and I’ve always shared her enthusiasm for beautiful things with interesting origins. Besides visiting the shop you can also order the range online.

PROVOCATIVE TEXTILE DESIGNS AND STATEMENT WALLPAPERS — TIMOROUS BEASTIES SHOWROOM IN SCHÖNEBERG

PROVOCATIVE TEXTILE DESIGNS AND STATEMENT WALLPAPERS — TIMOROUS BEASTIES SHOWROOM IN SCHÖNEBERG

Sleek and minimalist – it’s an aesthetic that has dominated interior design since seemingly forever. But since the October 2019 opening of the Timorous Beasties showroom in Schöneberg, this has started to shift. The Scotland-based textile studio has gained an international following for its provocative, surreal – and utterly maximalist – designs. And now you can bring these bold patterns into your own home with wallcoverings, fabrics, furniture, rugs and cushions available to view and buy at the showroom, which is located in a former art gallery near Gleisdreieck Park. With high ceilings, concrete floors and bare white walls, it really lets you appreciate the full spectacle of the designs. They’re without exception statement works – whether it’s the abstract spots and specks of the Storm Blotch wallpaper or the tongue-in-cheek underwater scene of the Eel Colonnade fabric. The products are manufactured in the UK and Europe (hand printing still takes place in Glasgow) with natural inks used to reduce the environmental impact.

Since joining forces at the Glasgow School of Art in 1990, the “Beasties” Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons have gone on to create designs for a varied and sometimes unusual range of projects. You can check out the duo’s fabrics and papers for yourself at the showroom, which welcomes private customers as well as interior designers and architects. It also serves as a space for events and collaborations with local designers (interested parties: get in touch at berlin@timorousbeasties.com). Timorous Beasties offers a creative counterpoint to the understated interior design we’re used to seeing – a welcome splash of Scottish punk in Berlin.
